Organization Skills and Preferences

Organizing computers can be very messy and complex at times. However, that can all change by adding like documents together into one folder. These can be left on the desktop and accessed with ease and timeless effort. Moving on to online features the toolbar/bookmark bar does it all! Its very simple to establish a well organized and functioning toolbar. All of one's favorite websites/RSS feeds can be compiled into one toolbar that is clearly displayed on the top of a web browser. Finally, as for email, the homepage of the email site can be set as the default browser. An example of this would be Google, Google is a common site that allows quick searches and email access.

The All Seeing Eye is a new camera that is throwable in order to take picture of dangerous or unknown areas. All the information is captured and immediately sent to a mobile device, that way first responders can know what they are getting into around the corner. The main use of this camera is to save victim's lives more efficiently than before.

According to the World Bank, since 1980 low-income countries have accounted for only 9% of the world's disasters, yet for 48% of the resultant fatalities. Much of this is down to the expense and inaccessibility of the emergency tech used by wealthier nations. That's why US designer and public policy grad Francisco Aguilar developed Bounce Imaging -- a low cost, all-seeing eye that can be thrown like a baseball into hostile and high-risk situations.

Amazon Drones Are The Future, Not Today.

The world is not ready for Amazon Drones yet. There are still way to many milestones that can not be reached. They are under development in still many aspects but mostly in that their sensors will work. However, they can still hit into transparent windows, power cords, and even more drones due to over population. Another fault is that the drones use mainly gps satellites to know their surroundings. The problem with that is that their motions could be off by a few feet. They have the technology to equip them with infrared and laser sensors, but the cost will be too expensive for each and every drone. Its time for a reality check!

Do Now:12/3/13

I believe that Twitter and Instagram should not even be allowed in school none the less be used in the classroom. Students can take advantage of those situations and also just ruins the purpose of having these personal applications. They are mostly used by teens to express themselves and what they enjoy not school related. Also, not just students can take advantage but teachers too. Teachers when allowed into these student's profiles have all the power, which a student may not like or want to happen.

"You Must Be The Change You Wish To See In The World." -Mahatma Gandhi

In life personal goals are a way to motivate yourself in order to feel good. Not only that but things get accomplished much faster and provide that feeling of determination. Also, I believe that it makes one a better person in life when they feel accomplished it gives off that positive energy. Their peers and community will be able to see it and feel it. Lastly, if that person is really successful in their goals they can give back to their community by providing the use of their talents which they excelled in.

Science Fiction or Near Future?
Researchers at the University of Toronto have found a way to cloak objects from radar by surrounding them with antennas. It doesn't look as cool as Harry Potter's invisibility cloak, but this is real science, not movie magic.
  • Hides objects from radar detectors.
  • Tiny antennas that cloak the object in an electromagnetic field.
  • This technology can be used for military purposes.
  • Can be used to improve cellular signals.
  • Can make objects seem larger or smaller than really are.

Typhoon Haiyan blighted the central islands of the Philippines, it destroyed cities, towns, and fishing villages. Its crazy how 10,000 people died alone in Tacloban alone. People who lived through this tragedy are very depressed either by seeing their personal belonging and town destroy or losing somebody dear. This experience for the Philippines has been abrasive and brutal, it has been as bad as seeing people thrown around by the typhoon and corpses laying on the wreckage. I think that these people in the Philippines need a lot of help and support to move forward just like new jersey did for Super Storm Sandy, or the damage done to Oklahoma recently. If we can not help physically then the least we could do here in America is send over supplies.

Wikis 10/29/13

Wikis can be put in to everyday class use because they are very useful for planning stuff. In other words, everybody can edit it and preform their own changes that help benefit one cause or plan. If we were to use a Wiki in Web 2.0 it would help because all of us as a class could join in on a document and form a precise piece of writing. Wikis are easily created at Wikispaces they are accessible by anybody and free to edit. I have used Wikis in the past for information however, Wikis are not the best source because anybody can edit meaning be cautious if using it for specific information.

Do Now 10/28/13

I would love to own an invisible cloak for a day. Many people would take advantage in a bad and unjust way, but others would make a change for good. I would help those in need or danger because i would have no fear of being seen or hurt. When your invisible nobody can see you, almost making you invulnerable so why not prevent bad things happening to good people. For example if my neighbor's house was getting robbed i would be able to stop it from happening without them knowing, regardless if i liked the neighbor or not.
I question why somebody would perform bad deeds and take advantage of their own city while invisible. I believe that you are rewarding yourself with something that you cant do everyday by saving somebody in danger. Everybody earns money by working so why would you waste your time stealing it while invisible. Knowing that you saved somebody's life is something very rare in the world, excluding the Army forces because they are the true heroes. Nobody knows what i did but me however, i feel accomplished and know i made use of my time.

Do Now: Sports History Course

If i was a teacher i would setup a Sports History Course. This course would meet in a regular classroom and we would immediately get to work on the sport of the day. The sport of the day will be dependent on the weather and what is available. Students will all have to learn and acknowledge the rules and how to play then learn about the creators and purpose, a long with the legends that played. The classroom will have the same feeling as any mandatory classes such as mathematics, Sciences, and American Literature. Then it will alter when we actually do hands on game time and practice.

Students will love this class because of the variety of different training we do to prepare them. In addition, just like other classes there will be tests and projects to manage grades. Projects will be given once in awhile on a random sport gone over to show that they have learned a lot about it and see if they are interested. I like to think of it as a fun project, maybe it would be a poster board history of American Football, or Basket Ball.

Surveillance-Proof Font

Mun says that he understands the criticisms, but says that his fonts are meant to spark dialogue and make people think about their own online security: 'ZXX is a call to action, both practically and symbolically, to raise questions about privacy.'
  • New typeface called ZXX
  • ZXX includes 4 font which are Camo, Noise, Xed, and False.
  • Each font uses a different optical trick to make them difficult to scan.
  • It is used to disrupt the Optical Character Recognition. (OCR)
  • Designed to protect privacy.

South Korean designer Mun designed four fonts: 'Camo' which adds camouflage-like patterns over letters, 'Noise' which overlays each letter with dots, 'Xed' which puts a neat X across each character, and 'False' where a small letter is placed beneath a larger false one.
  • Camo adds patterns over letters.
  • Noise overlays the letter with dots.
  • Xed puts a X over a character.
  • False uses small letter beneath a larger "false" one.

Multimedia Post

Wood-Ridge High school offers a variety of courses to students some mandatory and not. Today i will be talking about the US History class. The teacher this year is Mrs. Garvin who is very nice and enthusiastic about anything and everything. Although she likes to have fun most of the time, there is also a lot of work included. This work however, should not be pushed off because it sticks to a strict rubric of grading.
Mrs. Garvin teaches with a lot of technology during her class. She uses projections from the computer to display it on a screen which we see. We then go through and take notes on the lesson displayed. I like this method because its a form of visual learning to me. I learn a lot faster when i see stuff and perform an activity.
US History Inspirational Figures.

I expect to learn a lot about the United States over the course of this school year. I'm looking forward to learn about more battles that we have encountered and what we have won or loss. In addition to just learning history is a class that you can learn from people who have lived through that event. Its cool because its like living another life if they speak to you, its a realistic story something your not just reading text off your book or internet.

What September 11 means to me

September 11 is a day that will never be forgotten. It was not just the losses of lives although it was a big part, the bigger picture here is that terrorists tried breaking our morality. Unintentionally they helped us out because we have only gotten stronger and even decided to rebuild the towers and make them even bigger this time around. Showing that we can overcome anything and return in a better state. One thing for sure is that we have changed for the greater good still looking back on this devastating day.

Welcome!

Hello everyone! My name is Giacomo Cirincione I like to hangout on my days off from work whether it be with friends or family. I really don't like when I have a lot of work to do in a short amount of time, there's just too much stress. I attend Wood-Ridge High school at which i take 8 classes, two of which include lunch and phys. ed. The others consist of Algebra two, American Literature, Physics, Forensics, and U.S History two and finally Web 2.0.
